Out of the Ordinary

So I've been changing things up in my studio. It's been nothing to write about but has been massively satisfying. From recycling unused things, donating them, selling them to re-organizing the new stuff to fit nicely with the old stuff. In the process, I got a new computer and there have been some bumps that have been pretty frustrating - mostly due to cords being outdated to the new technology - which has caused my scanner to not operate with my new system. Without getting to technical, I usually scan my watercolors into the computer to be digitized in some way. This week I can't do that, so I was pushed into making a piece of art completely digital. I've done completely digital work before but decided to move back into painting about 10 years ago. I've used digital as a compliment to my analog work but this was something out of the ordinary to create all digital work to look the way I wanted it to. With all the fun, came some challenges - (mostly the struggle with myself) but I managed to make something pretty close to what I would paint with real watercolors. So enjoy - you may be seeing a couple more of these digital works until my new hub comes in. I hope this inspires you to try something new today.

Reverie

I went to the desert recently and I really didn't want to come back. I'm not sure why the desert calls me - I know people who completely uninspired by the desert. For me, it's so different from the Northeast where I grew up, it feels like I'm on another planet. I live in one of the rainiest places on the planet but we do have the high desert close by if I need my fix. But for now I daydream. We went on a mini hike in a saguaro cactus forest and in one of the deepest canyons in North America - so I made this piece to share with you all. Take care of yourselves everybody and don't forget to dream.

Thank You

Hello Friends! While my shop is on a short break, I thought I would take the time to say thank you to you all. I appreciate you all so much for supporting my art. Some of you have been with me from the beginning, seeing a name change and art style evolution. The main thing is that whether you supported from the beginning or are just buying something from me now, you are supporting my growth as an artist. There are so many more things to draw, things to say and new kinds of products to make. I am so appreciative to be going strong for almost 10 years and have the ability to share it all with you. Sparkle and Shine Bright

I'm at a gem show this week fulfilling my crystal and gemstone fix! I not only have lots of new things to draw but also to sell. I started a little side project of selling crystals along side my art work, but only in person at fairs. It's been about two years of doing that, so I decided to make a new online shop called Dream Maker Crystals to sell my rock findings all year round. Rising Up

This past weekend was a mark in history and an epic one full of lots of emotion! The Women's March was such an awesome display of unity around the world - it pretty much eclipsed the inauguration. There were grandmas, babies, kids, women of every faith, race, sexuality and gender! The strong vibes were permeating everyone and you couldn't walk away without catching the feeling. It was so good for everyone to go out there and stand together. It's been a rough few days with some changes being made that are totally backwards and unhelpful to those in need. The march showed us that we are not alone and we can still make a change. We are rising up and will continue to until peace is restored in our government and in our country.
